The role of education in Social Mobility
- School should be engines for social mobility, helping children achieve much more than they could have ever imagined (Gove, 2010).
- Educational Institutions play a significant role in reducing or maintaining social inequalities (LaneIII and Paterson, 2005).
- In modern societies, education has become an increasingly important factor in determining which jobs people enter and in determining their social class position (LaneIII and Paterson, 2005).
- For,al education provides the training necessary for the more highly skilled jobs (Neelsen, 1975).

Social Inequality Hampers Social Mobility
Countries that are less equal also have less social mobility.
There is a link between social mobility and inequality. See the UK – it is both highly unequal AND less socially mobile.

- Prevent the sale of PMD which does not meet the requirements.
